Since 2002 I have been teaching Adult-Ed jewelry classes first in Los Angeles and
more recently in Santa Monica, CA. Subject matter runs the full gamut from beginner level
soldering and stone setting to advanced topics like hinges, hollow-form construction,
vacuum casting, Keum-Boo, filigree, fold forming, and stone or metal inlay.
To help students learn better techniques for solving common problems, improving quality
and saving time, I've written up a series of jewelry making
bench tips and have enjoyed sharing them with others.
The Adult-Ed Center has a
well equipped jewelry facility
with classes limited in size to ensure plenty of personal attention
to learn and perfect your new jewelry making skills.
All tools needed for the projects are available in the classroom. All supplies and materials
will be provided except for precious metals, silver for casting, findings and your choice
of faceted gems and cabochons.
Afternoon or evening classes are available to fit most schedules.
One class is held Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:00-9:00pm, and the other
is Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1:30-4:30pm.
Each class runs for 8 - 10 sessions depending on the topic.
